2012 Southeast Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Workshop

The 8th annual Southeast Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Workshop was held May 17, 2012, in Rochester. Nearly 165 traffic safety professionals attended, representing 11 counties. The workshop theme was drunk and drugged driving, featuring Carol Falkowski from the Minnesota Department of Human Services as the keynote speaker. Major Mike Asleson of the Minnesota State Patrol also presented on these trends. Other presentations included "Drug Courts: Justice that Heals" (video and presentation by Wabasha County Judge Terrence Walters) and a personal impact statement by Sandy Melville, whose son Austin was killed last year by a drunk/drugged driver.
