2012 Northwest Minnesota TZD Workshop

The 3rd annual Northwest Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths Workshop was held June 20, 2012, in Thief River Falls. About 65 traffic safety partners attended representing the 11-county region. The workshop theme was seat belts. The keynote speaker was Deb Syverson of Sanford Health System in Fargo, who discussed seat belt and non-seat belt use injuries. Northwestern Minnesota seat belt use increased from 65.8 percent in 2011 to 73.9 percent in 2012. Each county also developed action steps to move forward with their traffic safety efforts.
