The Minnesota Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) gives an overview of and coordinates with other safety plans within the state, including the Toward Zero Deaths program and those of the Minnesota Departments of Public Safety and Health. The new plan documents initiatives, program advances, and achievements and provides MnDOT districts and Minnesota county highway departments with technical assistance in ranking and deploying safety countermeasures within their jurisdictions based on detailed crash analyses.
In this workshop, held April 2–3, 2013, in St. Paul, Minnesota, a small group of invited participants focused on advancing Minnesota's safety agenda by developing strategies to move the state toward zero deaths. The event included presentations, group discussions, and activities designed to identify new approaches for reducing fatalities and serious injuries on Minnesota roadways.
